Walnut Hill Gardens the home of northern hardy daylilies

Visiting The Garden

We love to have garden visitors, but we aren’t always home, and parking at the house is extremely limited. This year we will be open to the public from 10 AM to 5 PM from Thursday through Sunday (other times by appointment). As in previous years, we appreciate a phone call to let us know you’re coming. (Best time to phone is after dark; you can E-mail us any time.) During open garden hours, it may be necessary to park in the front field or on the county road.

We are an official display garden of the American Hemerocallis Society, the Society for Siberian Irises, and the American Hosta Society, with over 3200 varieties of daylilies, over 500 different hosta, 300 varieties of Siberian and species irises (including many guest plants from the 2000 International Siberian and Species Iris Convention), and many companion perennials. Many varieties are not listed in this catalog because of limited stock, but are available for purchase by garden visitors. If you are looking for a particular variety, please inquire; we may have it in limited quantity. Peak daylily bloom is usually the first three weeks of July. Peak bloom for the Siberian iris is approximately May 20-June 1.

Directions To The Garden

Turn right (west) on 310th St. and go exactly 1.0 mile until you reach Johnson Road (on the left).
