2005 Daylily Price List:
Lynn Stoll Introductions

We are delighted to offer our first introductions by Lynn Stoll. These daylilies have been bred and selected especially for their garden performance in Northern Gardens. Seedlings are grown, selected, and propagated in an open field without any pampering under our typical growing conditions, which are often harsh in this part of the country. All of these cultivars have shown consistent, dependable performance over at least six (sometimes seven) years of observation before they are offered for sale. We expect that they should be dependably hardy and vigorous at least throughout Zone 4 and perhaps farther North. (We plan to test them soon in Minnesota and South Dakota.)

ARMS WIDE OPEN

Tet 30” 5½ x 3 1/8 x 2 Dormant to semi-evergreen. Late midseason. Pretty ruffled and textured light pink blend; the somewhat triangular flower always seems to have its arms wide open to greet you in the garden. Light rose pink halo, lighter midribs; attractive bright green throat sets off the petal color well. Very vigorous, with good increase. 20-25 buds. Sets pods, but rarely finishes them. (DRUID’S CHANT X NOBLE LADY) 75.00

BING CHERRY BINGE

28” Tet 5¾ x 3 x 1 7/8 Semi-evergreen. Early Midseason. Ruffled and diamond-dusted rich Bing cherry purple with lighter midribs, black-purple halo, white edge, chartreuse green throat. First selected for its clear purple color and because unlike many purples, it opens well, even on very cool mornings. Growth habit has gotten better and better every year over the six years we’ve observed it in the garden. 25-28 well-placed buds and excellent rebloom when established; a mature clump bloomed for over 2 months in 2004. Hardy and very vigorous, with good increase. Fertile both ways. (EVENING ENCHANTMENT X WISEST OF WIZARDS) 100.00

FRESHNESS OF DAWN

Tet 33” x 5½ x 2¼ x 1½” Dormant to semi-evergreen. Midseason. Ruffled diamond-dusted pale pink polychrome on ivory base; cream yellow watermark over small olive green throat. Fine gold edge. Clump always seems to have a very cool, fresh presence in the garden. Very vigorous, with good increase. 22-26 buds. Very fertile both ways. (DISTANT CARILLON X ED BROWN) 75.00

HARVEST MOON RISING

Tet 28” 5.75” Dormant to semi-evergreen. Late. Gently ruffled light tawny yellow self; color resembles a full moon just rising over the horizon on a fall evening. Notable for a very high bud count (30-35) and very late bloom. It is among the last 1% of all daylilies still blooming in our garden in late August. (VICTORIAN COLLAR X RUFFLED DUDE) 75.00

LAVENDER POTPOURRI
